Erasmus+ Incoming Students – Application Form
The Conservatory of Music “Tito Schipa” of Lecce welcomes incoming students within the Erasmus+ Programme, in accordance with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) and the Inter-Institutional Agreements signed with partner institutions.
- Application Deadline
Applications for Erasmus+ incoming mobility must be submitted by 30 June of the academic year preceding the planned mobility period.
Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
- Admission and Selection Procedure
Admission of Erasmus+ incoming students is subject to an artistic and academic evaluation by the relevant departments.
- Evaluations are scheduled at the beginning of September.
- Decisions will be communicated after the completion of class allocations, depending on the actual availability of places.
- Inclusion in the Erasmus+ mobility process does not automatically guarantee acceptance, which remains subject to institutional capacity.
- Academic Calendar
The academic year at the Conservatory of Music “Tito Schipa” of Lecce officially begins on 2 November.
Incoming students are required to ensure compatibility between their home institution’s calendar and the academic schedule of the host institution.

Erasmus+ students may take exams according to the Learning Agreement and departmental availability.
- Holidays and Closure Periods
The Conservatory observes the following official holidays and closure periods:
- Christmas Break: 24 December – 6 January
- Easter Break: from Holy Thursday to the Tuesday following Easter
- National Holidays:
- 1 November – All Saints’ Day
- 8 December – Immaculate Conception
- 25 April – Liberation Day
- 1 May – Labour Day
- 2 June – Republic Day
- Summer Closure: entire month of August
Additional closures or schedule changes may be communicated during the academic year.

Applicants must submit the following documents in English or Italian:

Artistic Admission Requirements
Erasmus+ Incoming Students
Admission of Erasmus+ incoming students to the Conservatory of Music “Tito Schipa” of Lecce is subject to an artistic evaluation carried out by the relevant departments, in accordance with European conservatoire standards (AEC).
Applicants are required to submit audio and/or video materials demonstrating their artistic level and suitability for the chosen study area.
All recordings must comply with the requirements outlined below.
General Requirements for Audio/Video Recordings
- The maximum total duration of the submitted video(s) must not exceed 15 minutes.
- Recordings must be recent and clearly identify the applicant.
- The programme must include two pieces of contrasting style, representative of the applicant’s artistic profile.
- Videos must be recorded in one uninterrupted take per piece (no editing).
- Piano accompaniment is recommended where appropriate.
- The video may be shared via a streaming link (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, institutional cloud platforms).
Requirements by Study Area
🎤 Vocal Studies (Classical Singing, Jazz Singing)
Applicants must submit:
- Two vocal works of contrasting style and/or historical period
(e.g. Baroque/Classical and Romantic/20th century; opera aria and art song; jazz standard and contemporary repertoire). - Works must be performed from memory, where stylistically required.
- For classical singing, at least one piece in Italian is strongly recommended.
🎼 Instrumental Studies
Applicants must submit:
- Two pieces of contrasting style and character, chosen from the standard repertoire of the instrument.
- At least one piece should demonstrate technical proficiency, the other musical expression and stylistic awareness.
- Scales or technical studies are not required, unless specifically requested by the department.
✍️ Composition
Applicants must submit:
- A portfolio of compositions (PDF scores), preferably 2 works of different styles or instrumentation.
- Where available, audio renderings or recordings of the submitted works.
- A short written description of each work (optional but recommended).
No live performance video is required unless explicitly requested.
🎧 Electronic Music / Music Technology
Applicants must submit:
- Audio or audiovisual works demonstrating skills in electronic music, sound design, live electronics, or mixed media.
- A brief technical description of the tools and software used.
🎷 Jazz Studies / Popular Music
Applicants must submit:
- Two pieces of contrasting style (e.g. standard and contemporary piece, different tempi or grooves).
- One piece may include improvisation.
- Ensemble or solo performances are accepted.
Final Evaluation
The artistic materials will be evaluated by the host department in order to assess:
- Artistic level and technical competence
- Stylistic awareness
- Compatibility with the study programme and available teaching resources
Submission of the required materials does not automatically guarantee acceptance, which remains subject to departmental approval and availability of places.

Teaching activities are mainly conducted in Italian. A basic knowledge of Italian is strongly recommended.
Some individual lessons, seminars or activities may be offered in English, depending on availability.
The Conservatory of Music “Tito Schipa” of Lecce offers Italian language courses within the institution for incoming Erasmus+ students, aimed at supporting linguistic integration and facilitating participation in academic and artistic activities.
- Final Provisions
The final acceptance of Erasmus+ incoming students is subject to:
- Positive evaluation of artistic and academic qualifications
- Availability of places within the selected study programme
- Approval by the host department and academic bodies
